Zoo fun!:Baltimore Zoo with Charm City Cakes and National Zoo with Large Crowds

For this lovely titled blog post, I tell about the time we had at the Baltimore Zoo and Smithsonian National Zoological Park. We went to The Baltimore Zoo to go to Samson the baby elephant's 2nd Birthday Bash. Charm City Cakes, of Ace of Cakes fame, made a cake to celebrate, as well as sheet cakes for the visitors. The zoo had made cakes for the elephants. The elephant's cakes were made of mashed potatoes, cornbread, and various fruits and vegetables. The human cakes were made with chocolate cake, frosting, and either peanut butter or raspberry filling.
The above picture of an ordinary looking white van is actually CCC's delivery van.

This is me with 3 of the crew. We had actually missed Duff, the Ace of Cakes himself, by a minute or two, but these 3 stayed for the show they filmed here. As we were at the front of the line, Dad had to sign photo release forms for me and Missy.

Dad, licking his plate while Mom takes his picture...and filmed by the Ace of Cakes camera crew.

After the cake, we went to Taco Bell, and then to the overly crowded National Zoo. (For official name, look up in intro paragraph) We saw the pandas, the small mammals, the monkeys, and the tigers. this was a great shot I got of the tiger coming toward me.

Sayeth Steve: "Pi Day:Weatherston Style!" Part 2

"And now, on this lovely evening, let the Pilympics BEGIN!!!"
After the Science Center Pi day fun was over, the Weatherston Zoo Crew began its crazy Pi day contest: The Pi(e) eating contest: Weatherston Style!!!
This would be the beginning shot. You have Kimberly Weatherston, on the left, Missy Weatherston in the middle, and me, Steve, on the right.
The rules
1) you must eat all of the cake and whipped cream, which was bad for Kimberly, she hates whipped cream.
2) No hands allowed
3) Steve starts 20 seconds after the others.

This is Kimberly, who ate off all the whipped cream on one cake. Time: 5-7 seconds in.

This is me, after 5 bites and 7 seconds. Time: 27 seconds

This is about 15 seconds later, with one cake down. Time: 53-55 seconds.

This is actually10 seconds previous to the above picture. Time: 48-50 seconds
The results were:
Steve in 1st place
Kimberly in a close second
Missy in 3rd

I won even with a 20 second delay.

Sayeth Steve: "Pi Day:Weatherston Style!" Part 1

Happy Pi Day!! (For those not mathematically skilled, It was 3/14, for Pi, 3.14)
For Pi Day, I celebrated at the Baltimore Science Center with my family, the Weatherston Zoo. There were pi trivias, pi recitals, pi-ku (poetry of pi in haiku format), and of course, pi(e)eating contests.

This is a work of art outside, which stands out and most likely makes people go to the science center just to see what it is.

This the chair outside the planetarium, which had been sat in many, many, MANY, times, as indicated by my sinking into the giant butt print.

This is me, on a bed of nails. The reason I am lying there unharmed is that I am a master of pain resistance!!! Just joking, the REAL reason is that there are so many nails(aproximately 5000 says the lady who was operating it at that time) that they all give the same amount of pressure on my back.
